one step more

this is my lovely husband Mark fixing our bedroom ceiling. Not alot of room as you can see , so i did my best to stay out of the way but couldn't miss the chance to get a piccy 
 Later we put some insulation on the sides of our clothes shelves to help stop condensation .Mark thought that he might as well fix the ceiling properly while the bed was out.

The last time you saw this bow there was a bloody big crack in it. Mark has done a great job, stripping it all back . Taking all the old filler out and reinforcing inside the bow at the same time. He has given it a couple of coats of paint and we are waiting now for someone to measure up for the stainless stell bow work
The fibreglassing took most of yesterday and we had to tape of the bedroom doors put the cat screen in the doorway and sleep in the living room . Because of the smell of resin.
Mark slept on the couch and i put the cushions on the floor .It was a right faf. The cats thought this is great mummy and daddy in with us tonight. Patch went in to the litter tray and left a pressy which at ground level was enough to make my eyes water. Cleaned that up . Just got back to sleep and retching sounds rose from the bottom of my bed . There is nothing like the sound of a cat retching to bring you straight to being awake. Cleaned that up. Then Tom who was sitting on the chair above my head had a good scratch showering my face with cat fur.Then Tom went in to the litter tray for a pee and decided that he was going to spend 20 minutes covering it up. Then he used my face to get back up on his couch had another scratch , spent agood hour grooming his butt. Sounded lovely. Patch decided my face needed a good sniff tickling me awake with her whiskers. Then she sneezed.And finally everytime i opened my eyes ,  tom was perched over the edge of his couch staring wide eyed at me.ears pricked and i mean everytime i looked he was looking at me, for the rest of the night. I couldn't sleep because i was waiting for him to do something.
So after a good two hours cleaning the bedroom bringing back all the clothes and bedding from the car and putting it all back in the bedroom. The bedroom is ready looking really comfy and i could have crawled straight in but it was only tea time..
Mark should be able to sleep easier tonight he has done a hell of a job.Far better than the original repair. It took all day yesterday and two showers. The inside of the bow is not an easy place to work and the heat was terrible . But he did it and didn't complain once.. Petra was talking to him and was happy at what Mark  was doing .and sitting further back from the boat , able to guide him.
Honestly i couldn't really help him. but to be his gofor.. I did the little things like take the old mastik of the bow and anchor plate. Give stuff a clean and get him water and drink.. There really was only room for one in the bow.
We all feel abit calmer now that we have seen the problem and half of it is fixed. So i will keep you up to date and hopefully we will get the stainless steel bit done soon .goodnight.

boats bikes and cats

 Just incase you are wondering , yes that is a bloody big boat  hanging in the air, suspended by only a couple of straps. We watched this lift last night.I now have no worries when it is LAL's turn to be lifted in..The Bedwell team made it look so easy , when it is certainly not .It is a beautiful big one recently restored but having problems with her hull, so out for some work. The cat is called Tom, we have two. Patch is this ones sister and has only one eye, having lost her eye when she was a kitten. Tom is coping but not as happy as patch.Missing wandering around his old steading. Tom is a big proud cat. We are taking them out at dusk on leads to have a wander. If you have been following this blog , then this is the culprit who tried to gut me on the way up a ladder, just cos someone said hi and a bicycle passed by. Doing our bit and having fun on the beach.

 HI Hope everyone is well and doing ok. Finally January has ended, that's us two thirds through winter, Yea. Yesterday we decided to get of our arse and do something useful. We being me , my daughter Bethany and her long term partner Tristan. Thanks to a friend on facebook i was notified of a beach clean in our community. It was at a beach i used to go to when i was a kid Kilintrigan and Knock bay Portpatrick. Now it had been a while and i was slightly unsure exactly where the turn of was.  I gave myself plenty of time , which ment i got there an hour early, typical. It was good though as i had completely forgotton just how beautiful the bay was . It was windy abit but glorious sunshine bathed the whole place in winter sun. People turned up and i recognised a few.It was organised but not military style . We all waited a while till people gathered and because of the tide being in drove of to a different access.
