Hi everybody. Managed to get some breaks in the rain to take a few photos yesterday
This is us going on an aquiduct over a motorway. Would really liked to have seen it from the motorway with all the masts going by
Every area seems to have its favourite style of bridge. Some looking like nodding donkeys from oil fields some turning rather than lifting and these ones which lift.. These i think were the most impressive and slightly scary to go under.
Met a southern irishman today heading back home to Galway.
This is Noahs Ark. Its in Rotterdam. I am not exaggerating when i say it is bloody massive.
Very busy port Rotterdam , according to someone we met at a marina it is the No 2 port in the world. very busy when we skirted it. Lots of barges ferries and little tiny black and yellow speed boats darting about like bees.
We are now in a small marina opposite a barge loading area, and today we walked Into Ridderkerk to get supplies. And found a lidl, well we found the signpost for lidl ,but got there in a roundabout sort of way. And just down from it a COOP. Here is a problem if you decide to bring pets on a venture like this . Cats do have to do their business and require a litter tray . Litter trays have to be changed and new litter put in.Walking 2 miles with a big heavy bag of kitty litter from the shop is murder. .And i am so glad that they are Marks cats and that he carted it all the way back to the boat, while i carried the shopping. I got slightly in to trouble today when i went in to a lovely bakery thinking the grinding noise i heard was a coffee grinder and asked if they did coffee. Intake of breath and a noooooo on the exhale with vigourous shaking of head and she even took a step back. The coffee grinder i heard was a bread slicing machine..Coffee and cake , not odd is it. Well i am sorry for offending her . At home we have three good bakeries my favourite is normally Simpsons and i can buy coffee there to go with the doughnut that has tempted me from the window. The weather today has dried up but the wind is to pick up today and through the week so i think we will be herefor a few days. Nice place and friendly people
