first few days

HELLO EVERYBODY.

let me start by apologising for all the lack of correct grammer. I never was very good at english at school.
I am Karin, 45 this year . I have been married to my lovely husband for 24 years and have a wonderful daughter who is 23.
Mark and i have spent many years doing hard physical work .We have done all we can to not be in debt and suceeded in getting our daughter through uni without her having any and us having any.
That has not been easy. The whole family has done without , only getting something when we have the money to buy it . No fancy cars , clothes , holidays abroad .sky tv and other fancy tech.
Last week i watched my daughter graduate at Glasgow uni. She did more than we had hoped and got a first with honours in her masters degree in zoology. She did more than her bit and it was worth it all.
Life has not been easy , And so we have been planning for some time to see some of this fantastic planet. I say we and mean my husband Mark and I. Our daughter is deciding her own life and i do not want to influence her choices , so all we can give her now is freedom with no burden of thinking of parents. Whatever she decides to do that makes her happy is brilliant . If she needs us we are there of course . And we want to be a positive part of her life.
Last october we bought a boat with a plan of putting it in the French canals and visiting it , moving it on in our holidays. Well in january we both decided bugger it.. It was looking like retirement would not come till we were 70 and with our jobs , not be fit to do anything nevermind sail a boat.

She is called LAL 32 foot built in 1974 and made of fibreglass. A photo will be forthcoming when i figure out how to do it. { I love the thought of tech but seem to find it impossible to master]
We found her on the internet through a broker [ the wise way ]. Mark went down to Walton on the Naze all the way from Stranraer , Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland, to see her. Liked her and we bought her outright.
He went down a few times to get what the survey picked up sorted. And now in July 2017 , she is our home .

Mark has done loads of work, The teak work has been repaired , and she now has a new coat of paint. Once blue hull and white deck she is now all white..Her bilge keel has been fixed . Thanks to Bedwells boatyard, where she sits on the dock . She now has a new toilet .Yea. New locker covers and other wood work done.
She is now looking very smart. Her previous owners have updated her interior and it is practical and comfortable.
Changing from a 2 bedroom country cottage in the middle of nowhere to a boat sitting on a dock in a really busy coastal town has been a dramatic change. We had been in our house for 18 years and had gathered a load of what we thought was precious stuff but really was Junk. . We desperately had to downsize and quickly and it was a nightmare. It might have been junk but it was my junk.
Everyone has been so nice and Walton is very beautiful .But its so flat, we are really close to the sea but it is so close you cant see it for trees and wheat.
I am really missing HILLS. i know it sounds daft , but you know where you are with a hill. Its a landmark. i feel always lost and feel a great sense of achievement if i make it to the public toilets without getting lost.
