STEAK

 Good evening
photos again. I have a very patient husband who has yet not complained of me making him stop eating his dinner to take photos.
This is my birthday dinner. I managed to wait till wednesday. Because it was STEAK night at Walton and Frinton yacht club..
It was lovely i had rollmops for starter and it wasn't the skinny little herring that come out of a jar at some supermarkets. They were massive, rolled with onion and served with a nice salad and some bread and butter. Now thanks to my zoological daughter , i am now rather wary about eating fish. Far to many " friends " living on them and in them . She will probably correct me and i really hope she will leave me some blissful innocence. But i do hope rather than believe , that something pickled to death will kill all " friends" and toxins left behind. I also find fish hard work and the likes of fish pie some sort of krypton factor challenge. Waiting to kill me if i miss a bone. However the person who prepared these herring did a marvelous job. The boniest fish you can get and i did not find one bone . I ate carefree and with gusto.
Steak - Rump and medium rare and well just a lot of yummy noises really.
Blueberry coolie cheesecake and not one of those skimpy ones either and covered in cream.
I left happy , stuffed and in real need of a nap. The staff were lovely and friendly. Marks allergies were not a problem , the chef adapting the meals on the menu to suit. So thankyou mr chef and i am hoping to get some photos of the club staff as they have been lovely and helpful.

Cat in a box.
We now have this box for the trip. Our radar deflector came in it and Tom has adopted it as home  , toy box and ambush centre.. He has already flattened it once and repairs have been done..And we now have to really remember he is in it when we are walking past. Poor wee Patch has really missed out on kittenhood, with being so miserable with all the treatment on her bad eye. She doesn't play with toys and is totally bemused with Toms antics in the box. She is slowly wanting to play with toys , but is really unsure and doesn't use her claws but tries to hook with a curled foot  the string and pulls the toy to her.
News on the boat.
Well its just annoying. Our boat wont fit in the cradle [ Which is what it sounds like, 4 wheels , square structure which is pushed under the boat and the boat is lifted and supported on straps] The cradle takes the boat to the crane, which is on tracks but huge and finds it difficult to move around the yard. Then the crane lifts from the cradle and places in to the water the boat..
We can see the crane but there are boats between us and it. So the crane must come to the boat. It will lift LAL move her a bit , put her back down , manoevere around the boat lif again and then hopefully be put in the water.
It has to be a calm day with the tide full in.
Hopefully next week now . Weather time and tide will all be right to float our boat. Then she will be shifted to the mast crane. It will be put on and we will be towed around to the pond All this has to be done in time with the tide.
I am getting really fed up with going up and down a ladder , hauling water up and various things down..
We also spent a long time going around and round Clactons lovely one way system looking for a transformer for the boat only to be told it would be easier to change the system on the boat.
But if you are ever in Clacton and want some really good chips Then heading for frinton on the holland road is COLINS FISH AND CHIP SHOP. Good chips.
We have found through trial and error which isn't a good way to find decent chips. That stay away from the chip shops on the sea fronts and head inland abit and find the chip shops the locals use and decent chips will adourn your lap..
Oh yes and don't say fish supper , you will just get a what accompanied by a dim look.
so thats it for tonight. We are definately learning something new everyday. And for me today it was trying to learn the sat nav while Mark was driving in mad traffic. One day i will be happy comfortable and at one with tech. BUT IT WASN'T TODAY...

  2. Sounds like the boat will have to fly before it can sail, hope it all goes well, good luck.
