Hi people.
Wandering through Amsterdam yesterday we walked down this beautiful place. It is made up of tiny mosaic tiles. The small lights on the walls are in the shape of fish and animal head masks. boats cogs trilobites fish adourn the ceiling and floor.
very amazing place.
Today Mark went on his long walk on the hunt for a pulley for Lals waterpump. One that wouldn't shred its self and fall of. I thought he was there when he texted me only to find out his phone had changed his route from a walking one to a car one and he had arrived at a dual carriageway.
He did finally get there and the guys were helpful have got him a better one that is not aluminium and laiable to overheating and expansion.
He also thinks his belt was too tight creating the heat on the pulley that made it expand. He was told by the guys to get a train back as it was a short distance from his shop and did not take long to get to central. He was very grateful and did. Poor wee sod arrived back half dead carrying a huge heavy backpack filled with bits. He also got our Netherlands courtesy flag a book containing times of briges going up and down and charts for the dutch canals. We shall be selling these charts when we leave the netherlands so if anyone is interested leave a comment.
We had some germans as neighbours who have sailing from Germany to Lowestoft on their bucket list. I did do some tourist information and advised them that while they were there they could head down to Titchmarsh and Walton. They are hoping to sail next spring. Very nice people.
I did my hunt for supplies and Mark had set up a phone map for me. I got there to find the shops closed down and headed of sort of lost to find food. I knew there was something at another Marina Aeolus. Got there and found a Dirk van den broek supermarket and got after forever some shopping and trudged my way along the canal home. Did notice lots more stuff but too knackered to go and look.
Mark on his walk , passed an artists colony thing and was quite impressed. and took these. I did end up dragging Mark to where i had went and we found the belts we needed for Lal and a jumbo food mart. Which is set out lovely has loads of speciality foods . A sort of good GF free section but no dairyfree . . Now his excuse was it was cheaper but i think he bought the dinosaur shaped pasta for other reasons. Big kid.
We will be going again before we set of and stock up. The cakes were awesome..but i am remembering budgets and so forth so drooled and walked on by.
I have looked and looked and i just can't find any. what am i going to do.
THEY DON'T HAVE CADBURYS DAIRYMILK AAAHHHHHHHHHHHH
ANYWHERE AHHHHHHHH.
Milka is nice but it ain't dairymilk..BOO HOO
Well when we do settle in a place for a while i shall be expecting survival boxes from all my loved ones.
If i had of known there would not have been a
gap slit left unfilled . It would have been taped artistically to all flat surfaces . Loved adored and worshiped .
we are going to be traveling hundreds of miles all without choco comfort food.
One reason for looking forward to Belgium.
There shall be a lindt bunny slaughter at the lindt factory. I shall come out adourned in bells and ribbons. lindt bunnies will shake when they see our mast covered in bells. and our deck shining gold.. Legends will be written of Lal and the events that took place in the autumn of 2017,
Baby bunnies will go to bed quietly or Lal will c
ome in the night and eat their ears..
I will have my revenge.
on a completely different matter. Look at this lovely 1959 volvo. Its up for sale but i couldn't see a price. bit mint so lots of euros. I saw a little clio lose a wheel trim and when i saw he had parked up took it to the car, and left it beside it. Shouldn't have bothered it was the last one to fall off.
This is just crazy. The price on the tin is 39p.The actual price to buy is 1 euro 9 cents. Thats about a pound. Why is Barr so honoured to have this luxury price..Heinz tomato sauce is about the same price.Almond fingers are cheaper here..
Stumped
We tried to catch up with this cruise ship. It has been sitting next a hotel since we got here and has been part of our directions to each other as it can be seen for miles.
Marks legs and my stupid soft feet gave in so what you can see is all that we could manage. It went out under its own power. Would love to get a picture of that coming out at Ijmoiden. Glad we didnt meet it getting here.
this wee boat is steam. and it had a lovely pooop poooop as it left .
Nope hobbled as fast as we could but missed the cruise ship. The huge building in the background is the fantastic central station and you can just see the ferry we use for FREE to get back and forth to the city. I forgot all about the windows and the cake till a friend reminded me but i didn't see any. Did see plenty of wee shops selling weed seed for different varieties.. Got dragged away but as a former gardener i was just wondering what the growing requirements were
This is sixhaven.. It is tiny and crammed in and if you look inthe top right corner you will see a tall building. On the very top of that is a set of swings that people sit in and it swings right out over the edge of the building. Nuts Mad Crazy, full of life thats what Amsterdam is.
Big thanks to all the friendly people out there that are making our life easier. Away to get more piccys of boats .and barges and all things motory
