DON'T PANIC

 Hi everybody Mark has had a busy day . We have had endless problems getting somebody to make a bow plate. This has been annoying Mark. Mark is a bloody good welder, mig and arc. Mostly through necessity. First when he worked on a farm making gates etc and then when we got into landys. There is normally some part of a landy needing welded at some point. Normally in our case on the inspection we give them prior to MoTs. He did a fab jon on my Impreza who being 20 years old required a fair bit but the job he did was seemless and you just could not tell from looking at it. However as in most sods law cases. The welder is 600 miles away, back at home. He was getting so frustrated i had thought of doing a mad dash home home and retrieving welder and stuff . But it was Petra to the rescue who lent him a grinder and will lend him the welder when he is ready. She also had told us of a man , another Steve But this one is concrete Steve[ he has a concrete ferrous boat which i haven't seen...

Mum told me , you are definitely shutting up shop. I just wanted to let you know how sorry i am about that. I have always loved your shop since i was a kid . It was a treat to go in and i always came out with something.. Well goodluck in your gardening venture. i know you will be successful.And you being an outdoor girl will enjoy it.Those lanky legs of yours will be a great help. just watch your back and bend and lift with your legs. I really wish i had known that was your choice , i had loads of books and tools. Missing your lovely sarky piss takeing . You do it in such a loveable way. this is my lovely husband Mark fixing our bedroom ceiling. Not alot of room as you can see , so i did my best to stay out of the way but couldn't miss the chance to get a piccy   Later we put some insulation on the sides of our clothes shelves to help stop condensation .Mark thought that he might as well fix the ceiling properly while the bed was out. The last time you saw this bow there was a bloody big crack in it. Mark has done a great job, stripping it all back . Taking all the old filler out and reinforcing inside the bow at the same time. He has given it a couple of coats of paint and we are waiting now for someone to measure up for the stainless stell bow work The fibreglassing took most of yesterday and we had to tape of the bedroom doors put the cat screen in the doorway and sleep in the living room . Because of the smell of resin. Mark slept on the couch and i put the cushions on the floor .It was a right faf. The cats thought this is great mummy and daddy...

 Yesterday Mark spotted this. Big crack on the hull  under the pullpit . The jib stay is attached to the chain roller/shroud bracket. It goes right around. Not good Not good at all.The picture below show what the bracket looks like from inside the bow. We think the rusty washers gave way when the jib stay was tightened and the bracket moved and pulled at the fibre glass making the crack. Mark has thought us some fixes but is waiting to see Richard and brother Steve on monday to see if they have better ideas. The last thing we want to do is get the boat lifted out AGAIN. That would be another £350. We are really hoping we can turn the boat and work of the pontoon. . I  am really glad it happened here and not when we were sailing across the channel using our jib sail. I would hate to think what could have happened. I have had some lovely neighbours moored up beside us last night. They are 2 couples i think one couple is definetly married , not sure about the other couple. They have been chartering this boat for their hoildays for ten years now and come from the Netherlands to spend ten days here and about. In the past they have visited the Shetlands. They have interesting lives including carpentry and computer software and it would have been lovely to spend more time with them. Today they go home in time for work on monday. They have a deep draft and had to leave when the tide was full high. As they departed i got a mouth watering wiff of cheese toasties. well today we are finally in. YIPPEE. Was worried for a while that it wasn't going to happen unless i got behind and pushed her in myself. It was going really well and we got her in and the mast up. Then it rained and it just kept getting harder and harder. Some of my pictures are abit blurred. it was so bad i couldn't keep my eyes open, and my knickers got seriously wet with the water dripping off and oozing into my trousers. wow what a day all excitement and rain and people about. LAL is not in yet but they were moving another boat into the water and thought while the crane was going they would get us ready. We didn,t get much warning.Spent the morning getting all the stuff that could fly down on the floor. We were then told  at about midday it would be another boat shifted and then us. so we put the kettle on and settled down to lunch. Mark went to do something i was sitting going through facebook. Then a strap appears at the window and a set of lower legs i didn't recognise.I heard Mark saying can i get the cats out first. That was it out the hatch i went , yip we were going to be on the move quicker than we thought. . Tom and Patch had been worked up all morning and were not happy about leaving the boat.
